Ambassador Tom Rose was nominated by President Donald J. Trump on February 6, 2025 and confirmed by the United States Senate on October 7th, 2025. He previously served as Chief Strategist and Senior Advisor to Vice President Pence during President Trump’s first term.
Deputy Chief of Mission
Stephanie Holmes assumed duties as the Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw in August 2025. She is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Counselor. Before coming to Warsaw, Ms. Holmes served as Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.

Ruta Elvikis is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with over 30 years of diplomatic experience. Prior to assuming the role of Consul General at U.S. Embassy Warsaw in September 2024, she served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Riga, Latvia.

Gretchen Cureton assumed duties as the Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General in Krakow in August 2025. After joining the Department of State in 2005, Gretchen served overseas in Nigeria, Italy, Afghanistan, Malaysia, and Germany.
